TERMS:

1. Nominal range: nominal range is the luminous range when the meteorological visibility is 10 sea miles, the range at which a light may be sighted at night, can be determined either by luminous range or by geographical range, which ever is smaller, luminous range is using nominal range and meteorological visibility prevailing at the time of observation. Geographical  range is using elevation of light and height of eye of observer. The light are exhibited from sunset to sunrise or other thick weather.

2. Elevation of light: The elevation of light is in all cases taken from high water to center of light.
